this is not meant to be a knock on Hornibrook....he's done a lot of good things but he still has moments that remind us that he's still a freshman
IMHO to beat the best defenses you need a QB who can avoid the pass rush & make something happen with his feet when his receivers are covered....at a minimum a QB who's mobility demands respect and in essence takes one defender out of pass coverage
a QB like Barrett was the difference because he avoided the pass rush, the threat of him as a runner slowed the pass rush, and his mobility consistently gave his receivers an extra second or two to get open
Hornibrook is a sitting duck in the pocket and defenses have no reason to respect his legs
