Media Day just wrapped up here at the Kohl Center. I will have features up all throughout the weekend running into Sunday's Red/White Scrimmage at 1pm. For now, here are a few notes from media day.

-- Brevin Pritzl (foot) says he is aiming to play in the Nov 4 exhibition game against UW-River Falls to see where he is at. He seemed open to the possibility of redshirting if he was not healthy enough to begin the season.

-- Riley Dearring has added about 10 pounds of muscle, and he and others believe that is the main reason for his improved confidence/play. (I'll have a feature on Riley this weekend).

-- Andy van Vliet is now "thinking in English," he told Wisconsin assistant coach Gary Close yesterday. The coaching staff has been impressed with some of the flashes of potential AVV has shown throughout these first few weeks, but Close did admit AVV not being here over the summer has hurt him a little bit. With some time, it appears the coaching staff thinks AVV could help contribute this season. (I'll have a feature on Andy this weekend).

-- Khalil Iverson is one of the most physically-mature freshman Bo Ryan and his coaching staff have had. They love his ability to do all of the little things and view him as one of the more versatile players on the team. All of the players seem to be in agreement that they hate going up against Iverson because of how strong he is and how much he loves contact. (I'll have a feature on Khalil this weekend).

-- Jordan Hill worked out with Shabazz Mohammed, among others, this summer. He said he's quicker and stronger than last season, but did not want to add any mass to his frame. He has added 9 pounds since the end of last season.

-- Ethan Happ says Frank Kaminsky was one of the players who told him to redshirt last season. "So far it's worked out great."

Badgers practice is open in about 20 minutes so I will have a practice report up tonight.
