Wisconsin will be favored at home vs Miami(Ohio), and Middle Tennessee State. Also likely favored at home vs Maryland. At this point we will be an underdog in every other game. I say we win the first 2 beat Maryland at home and split Iowa and Illinois at home.

4 wins in 2025

Is this it for UW football?

It feels like it is. I think the best days are behind us.

UW had a great run with an identify of tough defense and elite running backs and the great fortune of a host of Wisconsin native players who were NFL caliber. Situated in the Big Ten West, UW was the class of the division and could rack up 9-10 win seasons.

Now it seems like the program has no identity. Haven’t had a good season in 5 years. The new Big Ten makes the UW schedules much harder, plus the non conference games against Bama. Trying to keep up in an NIL world while the money is going to a practice facility just to stay on par.

LF will probably be changing the OC and that will bring massive changes in the portal with new QBs and new schemes. The merry go round spins on. You end up just like all the mid tier teams in the power leagues. Just stuck in mediocrity with no way out.

Jon, would love to know

You may or may not get this information, but as Fick looks for his OC, would love to know who's involved in this search (McIntosh, Alvarez, etc) of if he's just a line wolf on this....and if anyone else is involved, what is there involvement...like feeding him names.

Just would live to know how this type of search happens.

Thanks in advance for anything you can shed light on.

Live Show with Melvin Gordon, James White tomorrow (11/15)

Hey y'all. Wanted to let everyone in the Den know that I'm producing a live show at the Nitty Gritty tomorrow (Friday) from 4:00-5:00 and want to invite people to come by and meet the crew. It's an episode of The Money Down Podcast with James, Sojourn Shelton, and Warren Herring. We're having Melvin and our old friend Clint Cosgrove come on to talk about everything Badgers and share some of their stories. Immediately following, there's an event for the 2014 Final Four team at the Gritty before the basketball game, where they're being honored that night. Hope that you can make it out!

Who are the breakout stars for football next year?

Smith? Longshot unless he enters early, and the others leave.
Jones? Powerful inside runner with a year in the program.
Dupree? Would be the obvious choice.
Heiberger? Had a chance to see the field this year, but the injury set him back.
Trech? He has the talent to change a game imo in many different ways
Lucas? Can he be the lock down corner we covet alongside Hallman (if he stays)
Ogard? Has seen some time, and shown promise
Mettauer? Will he stay? If he does, is he the type we're looking for?
Snowden? Highly regarded out of high school...could he grow into an OLB?
Arnold? has shown flashes
Berry-Johnson? Good enough for the coaches to give him time
Heywood? Could be a dominant tackle
Mandell? I think eventually this will be a MONSTER
Willor? But I've heard nothing about him. I'm just basing this on HS film
