Thoughts on bball next year

I'm not trying to get ahead of myself here (because I think that we could make a nice run this year), but we only lose Wahl after this year. I personally think that Hodges leaves and possibly Illver, and hopefully that's all. I'd like to add a power forward to replace Wahl and let Winter develop his body more. Freitag could be HUGE for this team as I think that his skill set is off the charts! Robison looks like a great shooter, but still a slim guy who I think is at least a year away. Can we add another athletic Storr type athletic PF? I hope so!

I'm just curious, with all these "big" in state names that we've lost....

What have they done? Blue (who couldn't qualify) was a good player for Marquette. Herro, well OK...we don't know the whole story there. Stone, could have helped. Tokato (sp), not a big loss. Knueppel, who knows yet. Who am I missing here? Would these guys have made us better? Probably, to some extent. the only 2 that I see are Herro and Stone. The jury is still out on Kon

FOOTBALL Wisconsin-Pitt to face off in Ireland in 2027

MADISON, Wis. – For just the second time in program history, the Wisconsin football team will play a game on international soil when the Badgers open the 2027 season against Pittsburgh in Ireland. The “Aer Lingus College Football Classic” will take place at Aviva Stadium located in Dublin, Ireland.

In what will serve as a home game for Pitt, the Aug. 28, 2027 matchup is the second in a two-game series. The Panthers will visit Camp Randall Stadium in 2026 before the teams square off in Ireland in 2027.

“It’s exciting for our student-athletes, their families and our fans who will be able to have such a unique experience,” director of athletics Chris McIntosh said. “We talk all the time about the opportunities available to the student-athletes at Wisconsin and this is another example. Visiting another country and playing a quality opponent will be memorable for all involved and we are looking forward to it!”

Wisconsin’s only other game in a foreign country came in 1993 in a 41-20 win over Michigan State in the Coca-Cola Bowl in Tokyo, Japan.

“We look forward to welcoming two respected universities in the University of Pittsburgh and the University of Wisconsin and their notable football programs to Dublin in 2027,” said Catherine Martin TD, Minister for Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sport and Media. “We anticipate an exciting week of leisure, business, academic and sporting events leading up to the game in line with our ‘Much More Than A Game’ ethos.”

“Dublin is now the International home of College Football and we are proud to welcome Pitt and Wisconsin to the Emerald Isle in 2027,” said Daithí de Róiste, The Lord Mayor of Dublin. “These games are a fantastic opportunity for us to showcase all that Dublin City has to offer.”

Georgia Tech and Florida State will kick off the 2024 season in the third game of the annual Aer Lingus College Football Classic series, held at the Aviva Stadium in Dublin, Ireland. The game series key partners are Aer Lingus, Failte Ireland, Tourism Ireland and Dublin City Council.

Information regarding travel and hospitality ticket packages will become available at a later date. To learn more and sign up for game updates, please visit CollegeFootballIreland.com.

What are your expectations for this years BB team?

Before this game, I have to admit that, at the best, a 10 seed. After this game, I see a 3-4 seed if we continue to play at this level. We had an off game by our 2 best players in Chucky and AJ but the rest stepped up big time! Wahl was TERRIBLE in the 1st half but did the little things needed in the 2nd. Blackwell, for me, is REALLY impressive! He's just so solid in every aspect. Winter needs more weight but will be efficient once he does. Essegian will come around eventually. Crowl stepped up big time!, but can he keep it up? Can Wahl make some shots like early last year? Chucky will be fine. If we can beat a team like Virginia by 24....I'm excited!
