What's needed to bring back Wisconsin football to its former level?

Your thoughts. We've become accustomed to almost three decades of solid Badger football from around 1993 to 2019. What are your thoughts (include as many as possible) to get this team back to its previous level of competitiveness - perennial top 10 or top 20 team, contending for the B1G championship?

1. Better QB play (simple one)
2. Stronger DL to defend the run.

Your turn, I took the easy ones.

FOOTBALL RECRUITING The latest on Carter Smith..

The recent Michigan QB de-commit will visit Wisconsin for the Oregon game next weekend and it looks like the Badgers are definitely the frontrunner in his recruitment right now. The Fort Myers (Fla.) Bishop Verot four-star is also talking with Florida State but it seems preliminary and no visits have been scheduled there yet.

The Scout Team

It’s been nice to get some good news on the recruiting front. Not only did Bucky add a couple of quality recruits to the class last week, but it looks like the ‘25 class in staying true to their verbal pledges. A reason for some optimism. So what about last year’s recruits? Jon, or anyone else, are you hearing anything about players that have generated some buzz during their year on the scout team?

Misery loves company

First, I was watching the Illinois/Rutgers game yesterday and you would be hard pressed to find a worse way for Rutgers to lose a game. Illinois had lined up to attempt a long game winning FG but Rutgers called time out (and the kick was missed).

Then today, Washington scores an 86 yard touchdown late in the game to send the game into OT except you gotta make the extra point 🤦
