Wisconsin won its 10th consecutive meeting with Purdue in West Lafayette, a streak that dates to 1999. It’s the longest road win- ning streak over an opponent in program history.

With the Badger win, Fickell is the 4th- straight Badger HC to begin his first full season with a 3-1 record (Bielema, Andersen, Chryst)
Including a win in the Guaranteed Rate Bowl, Fickell is the first Badger HC to win four of his first five games since Bret Bielema in 2006. Bielema went 12-1 in his first season at the helm.
Wisconsin converted a season high 66.7% on third down, going 12-for-18 on third down.
Each of the Badgers’ 9 touchdowns have come on the ground, including 5 against Georgia Southern and all 4 against Purdue.
Wisconsin has 14 rushing TDS through four games this season, its highest total since rack- ing up 15 rushing scores in 2019.
The Badgers have scored on their first 18 trips to the red zone this season, marking the team’s longest such streak since at least 2011.
Wisconsin rattled off a 16-play, 75-yard drive that took 8:41 in the second quarter. It was the longest drive both play-wise and time-wise, of the season.
The last time the Badgers ran 16+ plays in a drive was in 2021 vs. Illinois when they assembled an 18-play drive that ended in a FG.
The last time the Badgers used more than 8:41 of clock in a drive was in 2021 at Minnesota when they logged a 15-play, 9:52 drive that ended in a FG.
Wisconsin forced 3 turnovers (2 INT and 1 Fumble) and has now forced 9 in the last 2 games. The Badgers have only committed 1 turnover in those two games, giving them a +8 turnover margin over that span.
INDIVIDUAL NOTES
QB Tanner Mordecai threw for 174 yards on 17-of-27 passing. He also scored 2 rushing touchdowns for the second-straight game. He finished with 58 yards on 14 carries.
Mordecai’s 4 rushing scores this season are a single-season career high. He became the first Badger QB to score multiple times on the ground in a road game since Jim Sorgi at Illinois on Sept. 27, 2003.
Mordecai made a 19-yard reception in the first quarter. It was the longest catch of Mordecai’s career and first for a Badger QB (for a gain) since Alex Hornibrook caught a pass against Ohio State on Dec. 2, 2017.
RB Braelon Allen ran for 116 yards and 2 TDs on 16 carries. He also caught 1 pass for 9 yards.
Allen collected his 17th-career 100+ yard rushing performance, more than any other active Power 5 RB in the country.
Allen posted his 14th-career 100+ yard, 1+ TD game. That’s more than any active P5 player in college football.
Allen leads the Badgers with 6 TDs this season. He’s totaled 5+ TDs through the season’s first 4 games in each of the last two seasons.
In three career games vs. Purdue, Allen has rushed for 369 yards on 44 carries, good for an average of 8.4 yards per carry.
Allen’s 1,143 career rushing yards in road games are the most of any active Power 5 players.
In each of the Badgers’ last 18 wins, dating back to early 2021, Allen has run for 80+ yards. Allen has gone over 100 yards rushing in 16 of those 19 wins.
Badgers are now 8-1 in games in which Allen scored multiple touchdowns.
WR CJ Williams caught 5 passes for 56 yards, both career highs.
WR Will Pauling caught 3 passes for 26 yards and completed a pair of passes. He completed a pass to Mordecai in the first quarter for 19 yards. It was the first pass completion by a Badger WR since Jared Abbrederis did so in the 2012 Big Ten Championship game.
He also completed a pass to Mordecai for a successful two-point conversion.
WR Chimere Dike finished with 3 catches for 67 yards (22.3 ypc).
Dating back to the beginning of 2022, Dike has posted a 15.8 yards per catch (58 catches for 917 yards), trailing only Marvin Harrison Jr. in the Big Ten among active players with 50+ catches.
S Hunter Wohler tied for the team-high with 7 tackles including one for loss.
CB Ricardo Hallman recorded 2 inter- ceptions, his third and fourth of his career. Hallman now has INTs in back-to-back games.
He is the first Badger to pick off passes in back-to-back games since John Torchio did so at Michigan State and vs. Purdue last season.
Hallman is the first Badger to record mul- tiple interceptions in a game since John Torchio vs. Purdue on Oct. 22, 2022.
Wisconsin’s 17 straight wins over Purdue is the Badgers’ longest run of success against a conference opponent all-time
The victory gives Wisconsin its first in a Big Ten season opener since the 2020 when UW topped Illinois 45-7 to open the season.
With the win, Fickell has won 10 of his last 11 conference road games.
By winning three of their first four games, Wisconsin is off to its best start since 2019. The Badgers went 6-0 to begin the 2019 campaign.
With the win, Wisconsin improved to 41-12 (.774) vs. the Big Ten West since 2014.
Wisconsin has now won its last 8 games between head coaches who are in their first season at their respective school, dating back to 1990. UW’s last such loss came to No. 3 Michigan and first-year head coach Gary Moeller in Barry Alvarez’s first season.
With the Badgers totaling 8.0 TFLs, Wisconsin has tallied 4+ TFLs in every match- up with Purdue dating back to 2006.
Ricardo Hallman now has 3 INTs in four games. Since 2017, only one other Badgers CB has 3+ picks in a season: Caesar Williams with 3 in 2021.
Hallman joins Shelton as the only Badger CBs to grab multiple INTs in the same game since 1996. Shelton grabbed 2 vs. Minnesota on Nov. 26, 2016.
LB Jake Chaney tied for the team lead and notched a career-high 7 tackles.
S Preston Zachman recorded a career-high 7 tackles.
DE James Thompson Jr. tallied a first- half sack to push his total to 3.5 this season. Thompson has sacks in 3 straight games and in 5 of his last 6 games dating back to last sea- son. He finished with a career-high 6 tackles and 2.0 TFLs.
LB Kaden Johnson posted his first-career sack, also forcing a fumble on the play in the fourth quarter.
P Atticus Bertrams punted twice for 109 yards, for a career-high average of 54.5 yards per punt.
K Nathanial Vakos drilled was perfect, con- verting 3-of-3 XPs and 3-of-3 FGs. Vakos has converted all 7 of his FG attempts this season.
