MADISON, Wis. – The Wisconsin men's basketball team bolstered its non-conference schedule on Thursday, as it was announced that the Badgers will face Butler on Saturday, Dec. 14at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis as part of the 2024 Indy Classic.
This marks the third rendition of the Indy Classic, an annual basketball showcase that focuses on bringing the top collegiate basketball teams to Indianapolis to compete in a doubleheader. This year's event has Purdue facing Texas A&M in the first game, followed by Wisconsin taking on Butler in the second game of the day.
Butler and Wisconsin have previously met 31 times with Wisconsin leading the all-time series, 17-14. The two programs last met in the 2011 Sweet Sixteen.
Game times and TV information for the 2024 Indy Classic will be announced at a later date.
General public tickets go on sale beginning Aug. 23 at 9 a.m. CT through TicketMaster.com.
Wisconsin men’s basketball season ticket holders and donors to UW Athletics will be invited to participate in a pre-sale running Aug. 19-21. The pre-sale will be through TicketMaster.com and additional details will be communicated via email the week of Aug. 12.
Indiana Sports Corp, Pacers Sports & Entertainment, and Russ Potts Productions, Inc. partner to host the Indy Classic, which focuses on bringing the top collegiate basketball teams to Indianapolis to compete in a doubleheader. The Indy Classic is an annual fundraiser for Indiana Sports Corp’s non-profit mission.
