Defensive Line?

I’ve heard people on podcast and talk shows talk about how bad our defensive line was last year. Heck even people in this forum think we need a whole lot more defensive line help.

I think the defensive line held up and gave the linebackers a chance to make plays, sure they could always do better, I think they got like three or four sacks last year, but I think the bigger problem was linebacker play.

Every time I go back and watch a game from last year I see opportunities for the linebackers but a lot of missed tackles, wrong reads and being slow to recover doomed the defense. If it wasn’t for The Hunter in the backfield, we would not have been 7-6.

Saban 'Butterfly Effect' 400+ coaches later

The Athletic has an incredible article showing the effect on college football of Saban's retirement and the reverberations it caused. They discuss many, but not Colin Hitchler.

However they do discuss Mike Caputo, who is now out of football. He made many sacrifices to start building his coaching resume. He is now out. His reasoning is interesting and rather sad. He wants to coach, develop players and men, but the job is 80% recruiting.

Sad that teams no longer can carry 'pure' coaches.

Alabama prices

I am not going to the game but I am a bit shocked what people are paying. I bought tickets my tickets for W Michigan, Perdue, Minnesota for my wife and I for around 900 bucks for the both of us. I spent another 500 for hotels(Don't need one for MN). I read a guy paid 5000 dollars for both his tickets and hotel. Is this what most people are paying? Just wondering what people are paying for this game. I might go to the LaCrosse lot and grill with my friends. I will not pay that crazy amount.
