After starting the season with one of the worst offenses in college football, the heat is on Iowa's OC, the poster boy of nepotism. For those who don't know, Brian is supposed to report directly to the AD Gary Barta instead of Kirk in order to avoid state nepotism laws. This is obviously a farce, and has been proven wrong by many of Brian's quotes and common sense on how football programs are ran. Iowa journalists are now starting to ask hard questions about how this all works after the awful start to the season. Today's press conference gave some real gems:
Considering how big Kirk's buyout is, his legend status in Iowa, and how much influence he holds over the AD, how do you all think this gets resolved? Do you think he will ever actually fire his own son? Will the athletic department just let him run the program into the ground until he retires?
With all these kids posting about receiving offers from Wisconsin, how does that process work? Are we just sending out offers willy-nilly to these kids or does our recruiting staff and/or coaches speak to the kid to gauge interest first?
UW official tells me Goetz "plans to return"
Added that he'll know for sure when players return from break but to his knowledge, his plan was to return.
We've got some new offers out in the 2024 and 25 classes that we'll take a look at the tape for, but let @Clint Cosgrove and me know what else you want to hear about on BBTV
Didn't want to take the time to see if there were any pre draft threads up. Linked a PFF article that had some Herbig love in it. Think his size will limit how high he'll be taken. Think he becomes a very productive 4-5 rd guy. Login to view embedded media
