The Players and not the coaches blew this game

Like everyone, I expected more offensive creativeness. But let's face it. Our Defensive players were playing an inept QB. And they knew the ball was being run at them. I saw so many missed tackles by our Linebackers and Safeties it made me sick to my stomach. Many that were not even blocked!!

Locke's lack of mobility is ridiculous, he is not the answer especially against legitimate defensive teams like Iowa.

Braelon Allen might have been hurt but his lack of wiggle and creating big plays were not there when needed. Why did we stop attacking deep? Bryson had the size, heck a jump ball with him was better than our 3 and out punt drives the entire dang game.

We don't have the talent needed on Defense imho, and the Offense simply did not execute (QB throwing the ball short, WR's not coming back to the ball)

Our players simply did not do the little things today and Iowa's did.

They just beat us with a QB with no mobility 6-14 for 37 yds and their top TE's injured SMH

Not sure where Nick Evers is on the depth chart but if Mordecai is out then give him a chance at least we'll have a mobile QB that doesn't look like he is crapping his pants in the pocket.

So, I'm seeing rain for tomorrow

What can we expect from that? Fumbles from both teams? Poor passing from both teams? I'd be surprised if Allen fumbles, or Acker, for that matters. I can see some bad snaps from Bortolini, hopefully none that Tanner can grab (PLEASE come back to us Jake). Can our receivers actually hold on to the ball? I've never seen any major slips on our field with wet surroundings, but I could be wrong. Stack the box (kinda) and dare Hill to beat us. Hallman with 2 int's?

Predictions for Hill on Saturday?

Right now, he's not a good QB. He's admitted to being nervous before every game and this game it will be elevated even more. He definitely has a big arm, but throwing it 75 yards on a 50 yard route doesn't win you any teddy bears at the fair. Personally, if he's even close to 50%, I'd be shocked. He's not mobile AT ALL, so keeping him contained shouldn't be a problem. Purdue didn't really pressure him much, and he still went 6 for 21. Thoughts?

Here's what I'd like to see more of

Blitzing, every time that we do, we force quick errant throws. Quick crossing routes, especially with Pauling and Williams. More zone coverage (in certain situations) because when the opposition sends guys deep, it opens up running lanes for mobile QB's. More Austin Brown and Jonas Duclona (they are the type of athletes that we need in a 3-3-5). I'm still curious why a guy like Bollers fell so far out of favor. Can a guy like Kaden Johnson step up? Will we see a guy like Snowden for a few weeks?
