Basketball NIL

I heard from a former UW player that one of the NIL guys spoke at the basketball alumni banquet and said UW's basketball NIL budget is about $750,000. Schools that do not have football, like Creighton and Villanova, are spending around $3MM. Football takes up a lot of the NIL money and there are not that many basketball only NIL donors.

I thought this was pretty interesting. I've always thought that NIL dollars were better spent in basketball to get bang for your buck. I wish UW would do more to leverage small donations from regular fans.

I think it is going to take a lot of NIL money to keep Blackwell, and that would be money very well spent. He seems like a perfect 4 year college basketball player and leader for this program. Seems like it will be expensive to keep Storr too, if he wants to stay. Chucky and Crowl need to get paid their market rate too. I'm not sure how much that leaves for the portal.

FOOTBALL RECRUITING Ranking Wisconsin's official visitors from least to most likely to commit

I've done this story over the last few cycles and it was tough to rank them this year. I feel Wisconsin has a legit shot with all 14.

FOOTBALL RECRUITING Official visitor thread (June 14)

Wisconsin is expected to have three to eight kids on campus this weekend from the 2025 class. Here's the group we have coming in, but my guess is that the defensive backs and Flowers (WR) will all be trimmed off. Wisconsin is meeting today and tomorrow to solidify that group. I'd guess it will be Emmerich, Locke, Pavey, Schmidt and maybe Garcia.

FOOTBALL RECRUITING 4-star Eugene Hilton Jr.: 'everything was great this weekend' at Wisconsin

I want to talk to a few people, but I'm close to a FutureCast here. If Georgia continues to slow play here and Clemson and Michigan don't offer, Wisconsin has to be the pick. Very good news that he's not headed to see the Bulldogs next weekend.

FOOTBALL RECRUITING Wisconsin Badgers positional recruit snapshot: 2025 wide receivers

Miller was a nice piece to add early in this cycle. Tounkara and Allen bring nice size on the boundary, and I think Wisconsin would take both. Hilton is the top overall target, and Wisconsin would add him at any time. Georgia is the perceived favorite, but I'm not sure why he hasn't pulled the trigger there yet. If the Bulldogs slow play him and Clemson and Michigan don't offer, the Badgers could come out on top. I think Chandler could pop for Indiana during that first weekend. Wisconsin will have time to decide on Flowers, who is another projected slot.
