I think Fickell said they need to make it more clear what the path is to playing time for the young kids. With that said, here's some of my wild ass postulations about what that means:
1. More young players will get playing time or they will be told tht they don't have a clear path to PT....meaning more kids will leave quickly...(Like the db's)
2. We'll likely see larger recruiting classes as kids are moved in and out in order to keep the kids they want to keep.
3. The transfer portal will be bigger than what Fickell said it would be in his initial presser.
4. If things continue the way they are going without regulation, we'll see more of the same from the program as it will be unable to keep pace with the big guys unless the collective gets a few massive sugar daddies...not sure who those would be.
5. To adapt, hopefully they'll employ some type of money ball tactics in player development and evaluations as some have suggested on the board.
6. Max's role will be paramount to any success.
7. They better hit on Smith at QB or I think that will be the end Fickell....so the QB coach needs to be successful with his development.
8. I definitely think Tress and Fick are connected and he's not going anywhere. If the defense is as bad as it was this year, I don't know what happens....
