FOOTBALL RECRUITING 2027 QB Teddy Jarrard makes an 'electric' return trip to Wisconsin

Think Wisconsin leads here. Should be interesting to see what happens in the winter.

OT, Just listened to an hour of Nick Saban Talking

He was the keynote speaker for my broker dealer and was speaking to 4000+ financial advisors and he is amazing and it's really fascinating listening to his leadership style. Here's a couple of take aways:

  • Be a transformational leader, not a transactional leader. Transactional leaders focus on the result ie "the win". Tranformational leaders try to help the people they are managing be the best they can be within the framework of the team.
  • There is no I in team, but their is an I in wIn.....if all players aren't doing their job individually, the team's success is lessened.
  • Life is hard, be grateful for the hard parts and the good parts.
  • He had 18 questions he'd ask HS players and was looking for kids who were self motivated.
  • You have hundreds of decisions in your life every day, but they come down to two. There are things you know you need to do and can you decide to do them even though you don't want to do it. And the other is things you know you shouldn't do and are you able to not do it, even though you want to do it.
  • He wanted to be a head coach and was up for the Kent State job, didn't get it and thought he'd never be a head coach. But looking back, winning at Kent State is very very difficult. Be grateful for some of the things you wanted to happen and didn't.....that may turn out much better.
There are tons more, but it's easy to see why he was successful. Now he had a lot of things going for him that other coaches didn't, but the leadership principals help turn a lot of individually great players into a championship program.

FOOTBALL RECRUITING Prospects buzzing about atmosphere, staff after weekend in Madison

Hey guys, I caught up with a handful of targets that Wisconsin hosted over the weekend to get their reaction from the visit. Despite the loss, I'd expect Wisconsin to stay in it with a lot of the prospects that were in attendance.

"The crowd jump around was fire!" It was good getting to build the relationship more with the coaching staff." Singleton said.

"What stood out to me is the atmosphere of Camp Randall. It was loud all night and when they did Jump Around it was electric," Fryzel said.

The atmosphere certainly made it easier for Fryzel to see himself in Madison. That relationship with his position coach is also the number one thing he is looking for.

"For sure I had a great visit getting to meet Coach Letton in person and continue to build that relationship with him is really important to me," he said.

"Everything stood out! Coaches, recruiting staff, campus, everything! They have made it clear since I got the offer last year that I’m a top priority for them," Gebhardt said.

"The love from the staff was definitely the thing that stuck out the most," Weatherspoon said. "It was good environment fans were pumped."

2004 PSU Game

Watched those highlights from the famous Bernstein game in 2004 to get ready for the game. I have not watched the game in 20 years and it is funny what sticks out.

Bernie leaping over guys and pushing the pile like I had remembered.

Leonhard was so good. Interception return and several great punt returns. He did miss a couple tackles.

Erasmus James looked like an absolute beast. Whole DL looked good but he stood out as huge and so fast.

Joe Thomas of course looked huge but he does get beat bad on a sack before half.

Stocco in his soph year looked pretty shaky. He got better the next 2 years. That was the era of QB holding the ball by his ear, like Tedford has Rodgers doing at Cal lol.

The passing attack for both UW and PSU with 3 QBs looked almost high school level. Pretty shocking how much college football has changed.

Robbie Gould at kicker. And former Packer Jeremy Kapinos at punter.
